Software Quality Observatory for Open Source Software

SQO-OSS aims to assist European software developers in improving the quality of their code, and to remove one of the key barriers to entry for Open Source software by providing scientific proof of its quality.

Open Source is already leading to a revival in the European SME software development sector, and advanced tools for quality assessment will underpin further enterprise adoption and assist European SMEs and projects in competing with large global corporations.

In order to achieve these goals the SQO-OSS project develops the following tools:

• Alitheia Core

Alitheia (from the Greek for "truth") Core is the primary system for quality assessment developed by the SQO-OSS project. This system is responsible for the management of the quality checking components, the "plugins".

• Quality Checking Tools ("plugins")

These simple scripts are the responsible for calculating quality data based upon available data sources.
